January kick starts 2014 with some great content.

We mustn’t have been the only ones crazy busy over the Christmas period * If January is anything to go by 2014 looks set to be a stunning year in branded content.**

Following on from the fabulous animation we raved about last year,  Chipotle have just released a trailer for their new series “Farmed and Dangerous” a satirical drama (or dramatic comedy) series – in 4 parts to be released on Hulu starting Feb 17.  It reinforces for the brand a consistent approach portraying the dark twisted and dangerous world of industrial farming/agriculture.  Fantastic to see brands creating such a strong narrative and direction it actually gives them freedom to create awesome entertainment.  It stars Ray Wise of “Twin Peaks” and “Mad Men,” who plays fictional industrial giant’s Animoil’s spin master.  Chipotle’s CMO Mark Crumpacker is quite possibly one of the bravest and most successful marketing voices of the last year.  (round of applause).

Dove are also back at it with a short film about women’s self image which was launched at Sundance.  Whilst it doesn’t look revolutionary in its message, another round of applause goes once again for their consistency of voice and brand message.  Also great to see such marketing spend go towards such a positive message. Definitely worth a watch.
