Intel and Toshiba’s new social film, ‘The Power Inside’ provides an explanation for the resurgence of moustaches. They are in fact part of an alien invasion.
‘The Power Inside’ comes after Intel and Toshiba’s highly successful social film, ‘The Beauty Inside’ which won them the 2013 Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding New Approach to Daytime Programming and scooped three Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions festival (Film, Cyber, Branded Content). The series is once again orchestrated by Pereira & O’Dell.
The series is directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, of ‘Blades and Glory’ fame, and it stars a cast of familiar faces such as Harvey Keitel from ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and Craig Roberts from ‘Submarine.’
With so many big names, the series has already generated a lot of interest. So far it has over 600, 00 views. The film was opened up to the other marketers, essentially offering them an ad inside an ad. Spotify, Skype, Fossil watches and Skullcandy headphones are paying for placements.
The auditioning process is a brilliant marketing tool, getting people involved without asking for too much from their audience. You can send in a video of yourself ripping off a moustache or take a photo of you transformed into one of the aliens, called the Uricks. Taking sides encourages the viewer to take a part in the narrative – even before the films have been released. The first episode is going to drop on the 15th of August so watch this space – an alien invasion is coming.
